HUBER HEIGHTS

Homes and Real Estate For Sale

The City of Huber Heights Ohio started was known as Wayne Township before it was incorporated in 1981. The name Huber Heights originated from Charles H. Huber - owner of a utility company who started the construction of single family brick homes in 1956. In total, Huber Homes built 10,707 homes during a period from 1956-1992. Huber Heights allows easy interstate access as I-70 runs through the northern area of the community. The current population is over 40,000.

HOMES

A former motto of Huber Heights was "America's Largest Community of Brick Homes" - A little wordy and maybe a reason why "Come Grow With Us" was adopted as the Huber Heights motto in 1998. But it was a good description in that there are a large number of brick single family homes in the community. New homes in Huber Heights range in price from $190,000 to over $400,000. Resale homes range from $65,000 for a small ranch home to almost $600,000 for an estate home with acreage.

SCHOOLS

Huber Heights is home to a local branch of Sinclair Community College. Sinclair offers degrees in allied health fields, business and many other programs of study. There are also distance learning opportunities and transfer programs to 4 year universities. Huber Heights has a good local school system with 7 elementary, 2 middle and 1 high schools.

RECREATION

Huber Heights Ohio has 14 parks with over 133 acres of land. The parks offer playgrounds, shelters, ball fields, basketball/tennis courts and biking/hiking trails. Huber Heights also has an excellent YMCA with a state of the art health center, gym, indoor pool, all ages aquatics program, indoor walking track, swim lessons, and a nursery area where members get 2 hours of babysitting while at the Y.
