Centerville Ohio is a great community located south of Dayton, North of Springboro and West of Bellbrook.  It is located within Washington Township and the two have a combined population of over 50,000.  Centerville is one of the oldest communities in Ohio with the center of the city being designated an architectural preservation district.  The communities are located close to I-75 and I-675 with an easy commute to much of the metro Dayton area.

Homes in Centerville

Centerville has some of the most upscale neighborhoods in the metro Dayton area.  The average home value is over $210,000 with home prices ranging between $115,000 to over $2,000,000.  New construction homes are available starting at $200,000 and can be as high as $1,600,000.  There is the very nice historic district with a large collection of stone homes.  Real estate prices in the Centerville Ohio area are among the higher average prices for homes and land in the Dayton area.

Centerville schools have been rated “Excellent” by the state of Ohio every year – a ranking only 17 of the 612 Ohio school districts can proudly claim.  There are over 8,000 enrolled students; the district consists of one high school, three middle schools, six elementary schools, and one kindergarten village.

Recreation / Parks

Centerville is home to The Golf Club at Yankee Trace – one of if not the finest golf facility in the area with a 27-hole championship course.  There is also the 50,000 square foot Washington Township Recreation Center  which provides opportunities for both active and passive recreation.  It has a natatorium with 2 indoor swimming pools, a water flume, 2 gymnasiums, a weight room, indoor running track, climbing wall and multi-purpose rooms.  Near the facility is a 26-acre park with a running rack, picnic shelters and 3 ponds.

There is also the Town Hall Theatre in Washington Township – a children’s theatre program and in Warren County approximately 20 minutes away is Caesar Creek – a great place for boating, canoeing, and hiking, horseback riding and fishing.
