Bellbrook Ohio is a great little town for families. Bellbrook has a population of 7009 with 79% of households having children.  The town is located within Sugarcreek Township and is south of Beavercreek and Kettering and east of Centerville.  Bellbrook has easy access to I-675 and is approximately 10 minutes from I-75.  The City of Bellbrook was founded in 1816. The name comes from 2 sources. "Bell" refers to one of the original founders - Stephen Bell. "Brook" refers to many of the local bodies of water that include Sugarcreek, Little Sugarcreek and the Little Miami River. Bellbrook is unique in that it is one of only 5 cities out of 250 cities in the state of Ohio that does not levy a local income tax.

Housing

The City of Bellbrook prides itself on having well-planned and desirable neighborhoods. It has a wide spectrum of housing from custom built homes on  large lots to luxury apartments and condos.  The average home price in 2005 was $260,000 with sales ranging from less than $100,000 for an older small home to over $850,000 for a luxury custom home. Schools

Bellbrook's great schools are located within the local Sugarcreek School District. The Schools in Bellbrook/Sugarcreek are rated excellent by the state of Ohio for 2005/2006. The district has over 2600 students and spends $3,547 for each pupil.

Recreation

Bellbrook is home to some great parks for this family oriented area. Facilities in the parks located in Bellbrook include softball, baseball, t-ball, soccer, and football fields. There are also picnic shelters, playground areas, a par exercise course, volleyball courts, a paved nature trail and even a blacksmith shop in Bellbrock (not Bellbrook) park.

Other outdoor adventures await such as canoeing on the Little Miami River or indulge in walking/hiking, fossil collecting, camping or even cross-country skiing and Hiking at the Sugarcreek Metro Park. There is even horseback riding in the park at the Sugarcreek Riding Center or you can bring your own horse and park in the horse trailer parking area near the riding center to explore over 6 miles of trails.
